I volunteer because I enjoy meeting new people and knowing our service is something that seems so simple but may provide an individual or family just what they need to feel better about themselves or their situation.
My most memorable experience was talking to a young man who had just got out of prison. He was grateful for the help, and we visited about his plans for the future. I still think about him and pray he has achieved the goals he shared with me.
